(All of those comic book bubbles come from the wicked mind of yours truly. The gifset from the moment Waltz won is not mine, though - it was too brilliant to remake).
Brilliant! Poor Leo :( You know he's going to win as a courtesy one year when it's not even his best work. He'll have his Crazy Heart or Iron Lady. Hey, maybe The Great Gatsby won't be as Oscar contender-y as it seems and he'll get all the votes for The Wolf of Wall Street?
Or Syriana :) I'm still pissed of George has supporting win - he is the ultimate leading man!
Yeah it does seem the Great Gatsby is a mess, on the other hand it's everything the Academy loves with all the splendor and well known story adapted on screen.
BTW, do you ever wish the ending of Titanic would change? I mean, both characters could've still survived if one of them was on top of each other on that thing they were on.
I still cannot believe Jack didn't find any floating piece of crap there to lie there and not freeze to death. It was kinda ridiculous how he didn't even try.
I love the ending, I think the fact it's such a tragic love story makes it even more memorable.
this is genius! oh his face when he looses makes me sad... he's a great actor, but no one can hide desolation that well. I can see his face fall apart like... oh man. maybe we're imagining things, projecting our own frustration and sadness. I hope he doesn't give a shit.
Thanks! I usually guess people's emotions right and really that moment after Waltz won and they focused on Leo...I mean he was clearly happy for Christoph but it was pretty obvious he thought he will win :/ Hopefully he cheered up during the party ^^
I do feel for him, he must be sick of this now. He's still got plenty of time on his side though, he'll win one for sure some day. Look at Scorsese and how long it took him to get one!
The sad part is that in fact, Leo knows what he has to do if he ever wants to win. He has to campaign. He has to do all the media interviews, and go to all the parties and shake hands with all the older voters. Rumor has it that he refuses to do most of these things, and so in any year where there's a decent performance by someone else who WILL do those things, he's going to lose. (Yes, it should be just about the performances, but it never is completely.)
I just hope that when he finally gets that one, absolutely undeniable role in an undeniable film, that he finally gets smart and campaigns that year so we can see him win!
I know, it's seems a bit odd and noticeable - I mean I completely respect him for not whoring himself like that (which Anne Hathaway has been doing this entire year and the sad thing is that it will work) but all of his co-stars from Django are doing the talk shows and he isn't.
Rumor has it that he already started campaigning for this year, so that's great!
I haven't laughed that hard in a while great post. I especially laughed at the moment where Leo thinks. "I have a Yacht. I can take you there and dispose of the evidence"
Oh my god I just can't stop the laughter, half because of your captions, and half because it's so damn true.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I just had to make another post about Leo, these pictures were too funny not to use :P

This has to be the best thing I've read all week. Poor Leo! It'll probably happen again next year with The Wolf of Wall Street haha.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm really going to be rooting for him next year.
DeleteOh... I feel sorry Leo. Please, just give him one Oscar. I beg you. Give him a New York Critics prize!!! That's much more prestigious than the Oscar.
ReplyDeleteI mean if Kate Winslet at least married him, that would be something. Instead it will probably take 2 more failed marriages for her to catch up :)
DeleteI know... they make a great couple.
DeleteBTW, do you ever wish the ending of Titanic would change? I mean, both characters could've still survived if one of them was on top of each other on that thing they were on.

DeleteThis is so perfect. And it most likely happened like this. I betcha! Poor Leo.. :\
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope he just got drunk and started his next year campaign already :)
DeleteHilarious! :-) Poor Leo. I wonder what he can sacrifice to the Academy Award Gods to end this famine?
ReplyDeleteSome people suggested he will have to sacrifice his first born child that he will have with Kate Winslet :)
DeleteThis is priceless! :) Here's hoping Wolf and Gatsby don't split next year!
ReplyDeleteI think the hope now is that Gatsby is so freaking awful it will just go unnoticed and leave the way wide opened for the Wolf :)
DeleteThis has all the makings of a great film... hilarious, heartbreaking and true.
ReplyDeleteI know! I should probably go to LA and shoot an actual documentary :)
DeleteGreat stuff :)
ReplyDeleteI do feel for him, he must be sick of this now. He's still got plenty of time on his side though, he'll win one for sure some day. Look at Scorsese and how long it took him to get one!
Thanks! Yeah, I bet Leo will finally have his win. The Internet will explode that day :)
DeleteI love it.

It's so painfully true. His votes will just get split next year.
ReplyDeleteI hope it won't happen, that would be ridiculous!

ReplyDeleteI just had to use the Yacht thing somewhere :P
DeleteSuper funny post Sati. I thought he was great in Django
ReplyDeleteThank you! Oh he was awesome as Candie!
DeleteOk, this was pretty fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteHahaha. Oh you are on a roll this week, Sati! Poor Leo, hope he catches a break next year.
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteI keep hearing that Leo already started his campaign. He even said he wants to take "a break" and "fly around the world helping the environment" :)
