  1. Love this track, and the whole score. This is one of the extremely rare instances where I've been listening to the soundtrack quite a bit after the fact. A shame that the piece from the spinning spaceship scene doesn't appear to be included in any officially released material, though. :\

    1. They released it on deluxe version or the more deluxe after that, there are 3 versions of the ost which I kinda thing it's a dick move and money grab maneuver, anyways the track is called 'Imperfect Lock'

    2. No wait, I just read they didn't release it:/ anyways Zimmer apparently said it will be available soon

  2. Woah.. I was about to go to sleep but then came to listen to this and man.. I mean, maybe I'll dislike the movie, maybe I'll like it but I sure will love the soundtrack. Sure, the fact that it is Zimmer usually adds some extra umph to the soundtrack but this track speaks volumes of how talented the guy is.

    1. It's one of the two best pieces in the score, both using same motives near the end but this one has a ticking clock too which is also so good. The score is really great but not as varied as his other work.

  3. This track is great, just like the whole score. However, my favorite is still S.T.A.Y. It always reminds me to the heartbreaking scene where Murph gets separated from his father. You know, it's always great to listen to Hans Zimmer's works, but what he did in Interstellar has, for me, outdone himself. Great, just great!

    1. S.T.A.Y. is also really good! What I liked in the movie in this scene was the countdown being heard overlapping the scene where he cries in the car.

  4. I like this track! I usually always like Zimmer's scores, but nothing tops his Inception one for me. That's my favorite.

  5. I feel that the music often gets too loud in the cinema but as I went back and listen to the soundtrack again, I actually enjoyed it. I still like Hans-Nolan's collaborations in the Batman movies and Inception more though.

    1. Oh yeah same here, the Batman trilogy and Inception had more memorable music moments and tracks, but this one still had some really good ideas in it

  6. Awesome track. Still, it doesn't grab you like so many other Zimmer scores.

    1. I thought it was actually on his best level, the track that is. The score as a whole not so much

  7. I may not of liked the film at all (Your review pretty much sums up my feelings for the film) but this piece of score is truly remarkable. Sometimes Zimmer can surprise me even though his work as of late is beginning to get very repetitive a la Rush and 12 Years A Slave score.

    1. Oh yeah I remember nothing from 12YaS. In Rush it at least added a lot to the film's pace

    2. I particularly remember the first time the violin/cello-like instrument playing in the Rush score. First time was amazing and really, as you said, added to the film. But then, as I said earlier, got repetitive real fast. I also don't get the hype for his work on the Dark Knight trilogy though. I believe James Newton Howard did an even better job in the score department than Zimmer, especially his piece 'Harvey Two Face'. And you coould tell the score dropped in quality as soon as JNH left.
