  1. I haven't listened to Moby in ages! It reminds me of Jon Stewart's acting (few) days because, you know, Playing by Heart. Though I don't remember the song in it, just learning it was there. which is stupid.

    1. I haven't listened to him for a while too, but when that song came up on the radio yesterday I just remembered how well it blended with the atmosphere of the movie.

  2. One of the few moments where I actually liked Moby before he decided to become a pop star and be more outspoken. He sucks now.

The only reason I wanted to hear the soundtrack because it had a new New Order song at the time.

    1. His recent albums are really bad, but I love "Play" so many great tracks there. Ah, that's right it's there too, the two songs I remember the best though are Porcelain and Pure Shores.

  3. LOVE this music by Moby, I forgot that it's used on The Beach. I had a bit of a crush on Leo following Titanic so I saw this one at the theater I think. Now I'm just meh about him.

    1. He kinda got chubby, which is odd because even if he is fit in the movie like in Blood Diamond his face still looks like a bloated hamster. Great actor, though :)

    2. Bloated hamster, ahah. No that's not my issue w/ him, I just think even though he tries to vary his role, I always see LEO in whatever movie he's in, so not exactly a chameleon. But props that he's signed on to good movies like Inception and works with capable directors.

    3. Ah, I see. I'm kinda like that with Johnny Depp. But yeah DiCaprio really does choose challenging roles, though at times it feels that his characters' biggest issue is crazy wife :)

  4. LOVE this tune! Not a fan of the rest of the movie but I can always listen to this and imagine what could have been.

    1. Exactly :) I did like the movie though, it was quite unique and hey, it has Tilda Swinton in it ^^

  5. Ah, I remember this song from when I was younger. The Beach has a pretty epic soundtrack, too! (as do all Danny Boyle movies)

  7. Very good soundtrack!
I also think that it's a movie hated for no reason. I liked it.

    1. I love All Saints so for me this and Moby - back when he recorded good music - on the soundtrack is a win.

  9. The Beach, now THAT is an underrated movie, if ever there was one, what's going on with the ratings on rottentomatoes? Equally as good as other Danny Boyle movies in my opinion...Oh well, maybe in time it will be more respected. Perhaps not reading Alex Garland's novel I'm not so critical. Love the soundtrack!

  10. Such a perfect song choice for the scene! The surreal, dreamy vibe works so well. I love this movie, and the book it was adapted from, but maybe that's just because I think Leo and Danny Boyle can do no wrong.

    1. Exactly, that song has such a great, dreamy vibe like most of Moby's older tracks. Thanks for stopping by btw!
