Rising Stars: Juno Temple

Chances are that even if you don't realize that, you know who Juno Temple is - the girl from Atonement with red curly hair, Selina Kyle's sidekick in The Dark Knight Rises and Cate Blanchett's daughter in Notes on a Scandal. Temple, with her wild hair, innocent face and natural charisma can be in the movie for barely few minutes and you will remember her after the film is over.

Temple was born on July 21, 1989 and she owes her name to butte of Cape Final known as Juno Temple, where her parents went when her mother was pregnant. She is the daughter of a producer Amanda Temple and director Julien Temple.

Born in England, she decided she wanted to be an actress at the age of 4. Her father cast her in his film Vigo but ended up cutting her out of the film. Two years later, age 11, her father cast her in another of his films, Pandaemonium. When she was 15 she won an audition for Notes on a Scandal. That led to her role in Atonement, which went on to win Golden Globe for Best Drama, where Juno played Lola, a girl involved in incident that will change the lives of main characters forever. She also appeared as Anne Boleyn's brother's wife Jane in The Other Boleyn Girl and as Anna in terrific and criminally under seen Mr. Nobody. She is also known for her role in St. Trinian and its sequel and indie movie Dirty Girl.

This year Juno appeared in a small role in The Dark Knight Rises and gave -  reportedly - terrific performance in twisted Killer Joe. Her future projects include, among others, The Brass Teapot which tells the story of two people who find magical teapot that makes money but only if they are willing to hurt themselves, Lovelace where she will star opposite Amanda Seyfried and Jame Franco and what appears to be half of young Hollywood actors and Maleficent opposite Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning..

    1. The Other boleyn Girl is a huge mess and a big embarassment for Portman, but ScarJo is pretty good in it. All in all, I'd say you should see The Tudors or The Tudors again, if you saw it already, instead :)

    2. I did see a few episodes of The Tudors... if only for Henry Cavill [swoon] :)

  8. WOW THAT WAS HER IN ATONEMENT??? lol

It seems she is slowly building up a presence in Hollywood. I could definitely see her get more roles as the months go by. Haven't seen her in anything substantial though so no idea if she has any staying power.

  11. Other than Atonement and TDKR, I'm not familiar with her work. Followed the casting news for TDKR and thought she would have an important role but was disappointed.

She looks interesting and I always love people with unique names.

    1. Yeah it was small, but I still liked it. The film was well paced so her part couldn't be longer with all that was going on.

  15. I had seen her in a couple of those movies you mentioned, but the role where I finally remembered her name and who she was was in St. Trinian's. I don't know why, since there are so many other young actresses running around in it, too.

    1. I barely remember that one to be honest, I see it's definetly troublesome for people to remember her in movies, that may be good since she blends in the role so well :)

  16. Haha, sounds like everyone forgets poor Juno. I like her, though I have only seen a couple of her films. She was pretty much the only highlight in Kaboom -- did not like that one at all.

  17. At some point I thought that she's everywhere because she appeared in so many movies, even though as a supporting actress. But she's very interesting. I'm looking forward to her future career and I'm curious about some films of hers that I missed.
