  1. Nice list but nothing from Ennio Morricone or Nino Rota?

    1. I like their music, but they don't have tracks I could listen to on repeat like with these 20.

  2. Hans Zimmer, what a legend!
Joe Hisaishi - One Summers Day would be in my top twenty (one of my favourite things about Spirited Away

    1. That one is really lovely, If I were to make top 100 I'd probably include that, I listen to A LOT of soundtracks so it was pretty tough making the list of just 20.

  6. Great stuff here! I like Zimmer and Desplat is quickly becoming my favorite. It's amazing how many scores he worked on that I didn't realize before.

    1. Thank you! I like Desplat's music but I think he is splitting his focus too much - he is working on so many scores and at times only 1-2 tracks from them are great while the rest is very average.

  7. Great list. Love that you have "It's a Process" at #1. It's a fantastic track.

I second the mentions of Morricone, Rota, and Hisaishi's One Summers Day. Oh, and a track from Three Colors: Blue. :)

    1. For me the best part of Inception was Zimmer's score especially that track.

  9. Seriously great picks here. Shame. Yes. Yes. Yes.

I've never listened to that Moneyball track independent from the movie. It is just as remarkable. Gorgeous.

    1. Thank you! I knew you'd like the fact I included Shame :)

I love this track so much, it added so much to the movie and it's beautiful even as a standalone track.

  10. I like how this isn't the same old stuff...it is a really unique list. Time is actually my second favourite song of all-time, after 528491 from the same soundtrack. I love What If We Could (even though it makes me mega sad when I listen to it), Brandon, Opposites Attract and Why Do We Fall? Moneyball has an extra good score, too - I must get my hands on it.

    1. Thank you! I like 528491 too, the whole soundtrack is really amazing. Glad you like so many from the list, Why Do We Fall? will probably be my favorite track of the year by the time 2012 is over.

  11. We all know you love soundtracks, so it was no surprise to see a top 20 list of them. I really love the Shame one, and it was nice to see The Tudors included- I am assuming you have watched the show? it's one of my favorites of all time, Henry Cavill and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers are gods :D

    1. Oh yeah, I love The Tudors! Such a great show, though first two seasons were much better than the last two, probably because of lovely Natalie Dormer.
