The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984 and The Suicide Squad promos premiere at FanDome

The Batman teaser dropped last night and whoever is not watching it on loop right now is posting about how brilliant it is.

Also the trailer for Justice League Snyder Cut dropped but my God comparing to the rest of the stuff that had teasers it doesn't even look like an actual movie, so let's not talk about that.

We did get the second Wonder Woman 1984 trailer which reveals Cheetah - who looks as good as a human/cat hybrid possibly can. Kristten Wiig's performance looks to be really, really strong and Chris Pine's perfect comedy timing saves some of the cringy attempts at humor. The film looks stunning and we also got the first track from the score by Hans Zimmer which sounds very surprising and great. There's no date on the trailer and on the poster which suggests we will have to wait longer than till October.

Then we got a roll call showing The Suicide Squad characters, promising a fun film, and the behind the scenes look that made it look like a lot of colorful entertainment. I do think we have been getting a bit too much of Harley lately and it's a shame someone as inept as David Ayer put her on the path she is on which is just being a loud, comic relief.

These two films both got wonderful promos but then we got a prerecorded message from mellow and disheveled Robert Pattinson and about 15 minutes of Matt Reeves passionately talking about his vision for The Batman and the characters in the movie. This looks like Batman if it was made by David Fincher. It has huge Se7en, Zodiac and The Girl with the Dragon Tatto vibes. It has a damn solvable riddle by the Riddle in it. It has Nirvana mixed with brand new theme for the movie. It has Colin Farrell being so unrecognizable had he not said a line I would not believe it is him (WB, I will SUE). I now officially anticipate it the most out of these films because it looks like the path they should be taking with this character from the start, because it's pretty much the only release from theirs the plot of which has not leaked (secure your shit, you fools) and because as I am not fond of Bale's Batman and Nolan's trilogy there is a room here to give us the best Batman and best Batman movie yet. If the studio is confident enough to give it R rating - hopefully it will happen - then there would be at least one good thing that came out of Joker.

  1. DC did a great job yesterday dropping all of this. I'm even more hyped for The Batman now and I feel a lot better about Pattinson as he was always my big question mark. I can't wait to see more of Dano. My vagina cries for what they have done to Colin.

I think Cheetah looks awful but I don't like Kristen Wiig to begin with so this was always going to be a no for me. I hope we see more of Pedro instead.

Suicide Squad looks fun as hell, I love Harley's new outfit.

The animated stuff they released also looks really interesting, really the only thing I could not care less for was the Snyder Cut lol.

    1. What was done to Colin is a crime of enormous proportions

Cheetah does look like a woman in a leopard suit....but I guess it's very hard probably impossible to make this character work

  3. DC fans must have been over the moon with all of this! Wonder Woman is shaping up to be amazing, I absolutely can't wait for that.
The thought of another Batman movie makes me want to scream and throw a tantrum, but I'm falling into a bit of a Pattinson crush and who knows...maybe I'll enjoy this one? I don't want to put too much hope into it!

  4. I'm really excited for the new Batman. Especially now as you compared it to Fincher and Zodiac. That will just be amazing.
I'm not gonna watch the Wonder Woman trailer because the wait is so long and I just don't want to suffer. I miss Pine and I can't watch the first movie without being emotional and it's just.. ugh. Anyway, hope this shit storm of a year is over soon and movies will start thriving again and we won't have to settle for Netflix movies.
