The scene: In one of the biggest showdowns between The Joker and Batman on the streets of Gotham City, The Joker proceeds to shoot cars out of his way to make way for Batman who is driving towards him. He proceeds to dare him to drive into him, tempting him to break his one rule about not killing anyone. In the last moment Batman turns and falls off Batpod.
Effing. Amazing. Scene. One of the best in the film (obviously, or you wouldn't have chosen it, lol)

DeleteOne of my favourite scenes from TDK. (The top one being the Joker hanging his head out of the window like a dog.)
ReplyDeleteIt's just the way Heath Ledger yells "Hit Me!" So intense!
That scene in the car was amazing and so chilling, loved the fact it was accompanied by silence.

DeleteGah Joker. So much love!! This scene almost completely captures his madness and his need for destruction and his belief in the predictability of others, that in turn make him so unpredictable. Crap, I need to watch TDK now!

ReplyDeleteKind of reminds me of a scene in Tim Burton's Batman where The Joker just stands and let Batman in his Batwing shoot him and miss before taking out his 4 foot long gun and shoot the Batwing down.
Yeah, but I love the whole build up with Batman doing the spin on the Batpod, Joker shooting the cars etc.
DeleteThat may actually inspired it to some degree, I'm sure Nolan rewatched Burton's Batman before making his trilogy.
I LOVE, LOVE this scene!!! And your gorgeous presentation makes me appreciate it a whole lot more, Sati. It stands as one of the 20 scenes I could watch over and over, I made that post 2 yrs ago but it still holds up today. Awesome bat pod scene and the Joker at his creepiest!

DeleteGod, the face of Heath just breaks my heart. I remember watching The Dark Knight months and months later just because I couldn't bring myself to watch Heath again. Then when I saw TDK, I was literally not seeing him AT ALL - he was out of this world. The only scene that made me cry was the one where he had no make up on, dressed as a cop - I could see Heath but that was it. Seeing this gif... I still don't see him, what I see is something scary...
