Tonight was the premiere of the 4th season for the cast and the crew of the show. The event was broadcasted live and hosted by True Blood's Steve Nevlin doing absolutely awful job,. However it was worth sitting through all the awkwardness to witness new, amazing trailer for season 4 with plenty of new footage.

And an easy way would be to pair Spike Jonze's Her with Sofia Coppola's Lost Translation - people kept banging on about the similarities between the two for months now, hell I even saw comparison gifsets of tumblr. You may remember this post I made a while back, about 15 of my most anticipated moments in the entire series - out of those at least 5 will happen this season. You may also remember last year's list of the most awesome things to look forward to in season 3. Out of those only 1 didn't happen but let's hope it will happen this year.

Spin-off blogathon

I've never hosted a blogathon - I never seemed to have an idea for it. And then while making one of my lists last week and asking people about its subject on twitter I thought - hey, let's turn that into a blogathon.

The list I was making was a list of characters that were on screen for few short scenes but you would like to see a whole movie about them. Someone so mysterious, fascinating and charismatic that you wish they had more scenes in original film and you just couldn't get enough of them.

With 27 days left, HBO has released another epic trailer, this one entitled Secrets - we have some new images here, but sadly no Brienne or Margaery. However we did get the first look at Roose Bolton, new look at Melisandre and plenty of Daenerys.

Dissecting the McConaissance

Ah, happy times. I can finally call Matthew McConaughey an Oscar winning actor. And his road to that point as well as to the acclaim and respect among movie critics and fans was quite an interesting one.

Matthew was just a young kid, who wanted to become a lawyer, when he was discovered in a bar - Richard Linklater offered him a role in Dazed and Confused, now a cult classic movie. From that point while there were roles in some pretty bad films - McConaughey actually stared in Texas Chainsaw Massacre flick, which is at least really entertaining, there was also a lot of high profiles roles like his work in A Time to Kill, Contact and Amistad. It was the first one that made him a star.

And then in 2001 came the Wedding Planner - amusing and charming movie, where Matthew stared as every woman's dream (enter the angry feminists who will yell at me now) - handsome pediatrician who repeatedly saves the protagonist. The film was successful and that caused McConaughey to star in several more romantic comedies - How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days - 2003, opposite Kate Hudson, Failure to Launch, 2006, opposite Sarah Jessica Parker, Fool's Gold, 2008, opposite Kate Hudson and Ghost of Girlfriend's Past, 2009 opposite Jennifer Garner.

Only Lovers Left Alive

There seems to be at last few additions to Vampire movies subgenre every year nowadays. There are big, loud, obnoxious blockbusters with vampire mythos thrown in there just to attract more audiences and there are small, contemplative movies that won't make big money and won't win any awards (horror genre and everything connected to it is notoriously overlooked when awards are handed out) but they have a chance of becoming cult classic in the future.

The Oscars are behind us and it was quite the show, after the ridiculous and awful hosting of Seth MacFarlane last year Ellen DeGeneres did quite the job last night. She called Matthew 'dirty pretty'. I loved that.

I'll keep this short because you are all probably heading to Oscar viewing parties and/or starting to drink really soon (I am, so stay tuned for my crazy tweets) + making McConaughey and above gifset took me a lot of time.
