Michael Fassbender is David, the android in new "Prometheus" viral video.

"Prometheus" marketing campaign is not just trailers, TV spots, pictures and posters but also impressive viral marketing which includes videos made specifically for the purpose of expanding the universe of the movie. In 3rd video we can see the introduction of David, the android played by Michael Fasssbender. The video runs a bit over 2 minutes yet his acting is already impressing me. Damn it, Michael. Is there anything you can't do?

The video has very cute/creepy vibe to it - it shows David as being innocent but also signalizes some worrying things - he can follow orders that people will find distressing. He is kinda like the robotic Teddy Bear from "AI" who may or may not be hiding a big knife and stab you at any moment if he is ordered to. How creepy is "I understand human emotions, I just don't feel them"? Also the line - "I'd like to express gratitude to those who created me" is a big foreshadowing for the plot of the movie. I feel like everything in this video will be echoed in "Prometheus" as David may be the key player in it, even perhaps the one who will "steal the fire from gods". Brilliant video!

  1. It's so creepy yet cool. Technically he's the predecessor of Ash, so he maybe bad. But then again, I like all this gentility. But him between the flowers- goosebumps!

    1. I think that since there is an option of "goal programming" bad company may make our Fassy do something awful :)

  2. I was perhaps the only person who was not thrilled by Prometheus, but damn that looks good! And you're right, in only two minutes his acting is already impressive. He displays no real emotion, yet he seems to be such a psycho, especially when saying that he sees children playing and angels in those images... one gets the feeling he's imagining the exact opposite!

    1. Eactly, on one hand he is a machine but on the other, who knows what he is really thinking. Fassbender really made a great job in playing emotioneless robot pretending to feel, it's so layered it makes my head spin, really.

  3. I wish there's a Michael Fassbender robot available in stores. I'm sure it would be expensive but I would love have one. I'm so gay for him.

    1. Oh me too, they should make this for the marketing of the movie, but then nobody would go to the cinema, because we would all be...busy :)

  5. Boy he is one gorgeous android! Love that one with him looking all melancholy. I certainly don't mind having a twin of these as robot helpers, ahah.

  9. Wow! So, you know I'm not a big fan of Alien or Prometheus, but this.just.made.me.reconsider! freaking amazing performance by Fassbender, creepy, yet extremely believable! Oh, and I love the marketing campaign for this movie, it's already revolutionary! Suddenly, I think I might go see Prometheus! Is it just the Fassy effect? hmm...maybe, maybe not! :)

  10. That little finger twitch with the pen scared the crap out of me. I like how David has fireproof underware in that picture. :-)

    1. This underwear thing really made me laugh :) The twitch was freaky, but his eyes creep me out more for some reason, I don't know why.
