(72) The Great War is between death and life, ice and fire. If we lose, the night will never end. + links

  • Look at these fucking dragons go. New promo is awesome, Melisandre's narration is just the icing on the cake. Also LOL at The Walking Dead moment on 0:15. There are character posters promoting the show everywhere on the bus stops. It's possible I hugged few of hose.
  • This week in another episode of Sati is going insane: I caught myself several times singing Rains of Castamere. Oh, I need help.

There is a certain problem one has to deal with while reviewing movies you absolutely adore. Instead of writing about them, you should just watch them again. But since I said I'll review Casino for RorschachReviews and on the odd chance there are those out there who haven't seen that splendid movie and I have the opportunity to encourage them to do so, I shall now review one of my all time favorite films. And I'll probably see it again afterwards.

    Lee Pace Appreciation

    Lee Grinner Pace

"I find that the best way into things is to open my heart up to it and allow it to be as truthful and honest as I can be, and I can make it. It’s hard to do that; it’s hard to open yourself up to something.”

  • Just when I thought season 3 can't possibly look better, HBO keeps releasing all these promos. The recent one, All of Us has a glimpse into the season's most important event and the bath scene! It means it's happening! oh God!, my ovaries!!! Melisandre appears to be using the oh-shit-my-magic-is-not-working-let's-use-my-slutty-ways approach again. And whoever chooses the music for promos - Jesus Christ, what brilliance. TRON Lagacy track, Nine Inch Nails and Sigur Ros.
  • The closer to the premiere the harder it is too take all of those clips. How I wish they used House of Cards approach here and just released the whole thing at once - granted, I wouldn't do anything for the whole day but watch it but the way it works now is just agonizing. On the other hand the ratings for the show each Sunday will be fucking insane.

New Game of Thrones season 3 "No Mercy" trailer kicks ass and shows that a dragon is no slave

    By s. Monday, March 18, 2013 , 22 Comments

You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words? Well in the case of the above it is most definitely true. HBO has just released fantastic trailer entitled No Mercy featuring new look at the dragons, Khaleesi outsassing everyone and quick first glimpses of Ramsay (I think) and Queen of Thorns. My favorite moment is definitely Jorah kicking so much ass and the BEAR! Oh my God I'm ecstatic they did that scene. Also it's awesome to see Stannis being badass at last.

  • So I managed to kill the electricity in my entire neighborhood few days back. What happened was I was watching Strike Back and then BAM! Darkness. The flickering in the lamps started as soon as Armitage was shirtless. It's all my fault. I think my ovaries exploded too.

    Top 10: Trailers

    By s. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 , 34 Comments
Trailers are one of my favorite things when it comes to movie advertising. Some people don't watch them, fearing they may spoil the movie, but I don't care about any of that. For me it's the trailer that makes me the most excited about films/TV series. The right combination of images, music and pacing can produce works of art that often times are actually better than the movie they are promoting (eg. Love and Other Drugs).

    Oz: The Great and Powerful

(spoilers about the Wicked Witch of the West and the very ending)

Disney doesn't give up. Since Johnny Depp is slowly becoming more annoying than charming and their last attempt to launch new trilogy - in a dreaded title John Carter - misfired like the smelly poop in clogged toilet, they are, poor things, time and time again challenged to come up with something "new" that will prove to be profitable. And those poor things, even when they succeed in unleashing half assed movie that will bring them money just can't get the people to do sequel soon enough. With Tim Burton taking his sweet time on Alice in Wonderland 2, what else to do than look for another adventure that will hopefully bring tons of money?

  • I've been rewatching Breaking Bad because it's the best show on TV. Though to be fair, for me the only edge is has over Game of Thrones is the lack of unnecessary scenes filled with tits, so I'd rank season 1 of GoT above it. Anyways, I'm hoping Jesse makes it alive to the end, he is such a decent person and the same can no longer be said about Walter. In season 4 at least he showed some remorse but now? It's different when he doesn't intervene or when nobody innocent ends up dying directly because of him and what he has been doing this season which was just plain wrong. I gave season 5A another shot but I maintain it's nowhere near the quality of previous seasons. I just hope they will do a good ending, for example a big shocker and the reveal of Walter's great plan, like in the ending of season 4. Or just kill Skyler in slow motion. Oh, that would be so glorious.

Movie of the Month - March - The Ides of March

    By s. Monday, March 4, 2013 , 20 Comments
For March, the movie of the month is...The Ides of March. I feel that this film is very underrated, it was actually one of my favorite movies in 2011 and it even ended up in my top 5 of 2011. I think Good Night and Good Luck is a fine film, but I found The Ides of March to be easily the most entertaining movie that was directed by George Clooney, though I won't deny that it seems to be mostly Clooney's vanity project that allowed him to preach his ideals without actually running for any public position.

    (68) 30 days till we return to Westeros + links

    By s. Friday, March 1, 2013 44 Comments

  • By March 31 it will be exactly 301 days since season 2 finale of Game of Thrones. This is madness. Thankfully, HBO has finally gave us things to make the wait more bearable.
  • Check out this fabulous breakdown of season 3 trailer which definitely didn't disappoint. The dragon flying next to Daenerys's ship! The confirmation of Reek storyline! Jaime shouting which could only be the shot from one of the most famous moments! It took barely few days for the trailer to reach 17,000,000 views on youtube - and I'm responsible for just half of those. HBO is also doing pretty cool job advertising the show with the use of the new poster (see here and here). In addition Mondo is gradually releasing posters inspired by the series and will do so until the premiere of season 3.
  • What's better than 60-second long trailer? 2-minute long trailer which will air on HBO Sunday night.
