Harrison Ford Appreciation

By s. Wednesday, July 13, 2016
Harrison Ford
July 13, 1942 (Chicago, Illinois, USA)

I wasn't supposed to write anything at all this week because life is just a bit much at the moment. And today was not the greatest day from insane workload to no toilet paper in ladies room (it's like I work in a cave ffs) but then as I finally had the time to drink my coffee without which they would found me on the floor, in a coma, I logged into imdb and saw this:

I had to do something. It would be WEIRD If I didn't.
It would be the sign of Apocalypse if I didn't.

Because when the most perfect man to ever walk the Earth and someone women perved about for four decades has birthday, you celebrate.

In addition to being the object of so many desires, Harrison Ford was nominated for an Oscar only once for his beautiful work in Witness. He has yet to receive the long overdue honorary statue. This is strange world we live in, considering the man is responsible for so many iconic characters and beautiful performances (he should at least be nominated for The Fugitive) yet the Academy is still yet to recognize it. But to hell with them, because we all love him.

also
still would.

I'm sorry, have I reached the limits of inappropriate perving?
What do you mean I reached those years ago?

But let's keep it short and sweet:

  2. I think Frantic is extremely underrated as it's one of my favorite films that Ford did as well as the fact that he really got to be in a thriller told by a master. I also liked his small performances in The Conversation and Apocalypse Now as it showed how much he can do with small roles.

One of my favorite stories about him was getting the chance to do a film for Jacques Demy and Demy wanted him but the studio said no because Ford was unheard of at the time and Demy was forced to use the guy who starred in 2001: A Space Odyssey and that made Demy sad as he felt the film would've been better with Ford. Ford was grateful enough that Demy still considered him that he appeared in a doc about Demy directed by Demy's wife Agnes Varda.

    1. Oh Frantic is so underrated!

That's a nice story, Harrison really seems like a nice guy, in spite of his reputation that he is grumpy or something

  4. Awesome tribute! Glad you ended up doing one, yes it'd be an apocalypse if you didn't!! :) Boy that pic of him as Indy… gets me every time. I'm glad you put down Sabrina as one of his hottest roles, I concur. Oh and my goodness, that is one lucky teddy bear! :P

  10. Witness is my favorite Ford movie. But then that was that was done by a cinema genius Peter Weir.
Weir has entertained me many times with his exquisite films , but he has had an unjust reception at the box office.
