Before I publish my entire Best and Worst of 2017 list - and that's gonna be next Sunday - there is still one more separate list to publish. Most of these shots are pretty self explanatory but if I had additional thoughts or explanation I added that. Here are my choices for 35 best shots of 2017:

10 best performances in 2017
By s. | Sunday, January 21, 2018 | Best of, I Tonya, Logan, The Disaster Artist, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, Wind River, Wonder Woman | 22 Comments |
Every year I think I celebrate most aspects of my favorite movies of the year properly. After all, my final list has so many categories and there's plenty of love (and hate, I think I need to create some new categories for Baby Driver this year) there. But I always felt if there is one thing I could write more about it's the outstanding performances. I always only write about winners in each of the four categories and that's not enough. So this year, for the first time ever, I decided to put all of my 20 nominees together and choose top 10 performances out of those. And deciding between the top 2 was an absolute nightmare.

10 best scenes in 2017
By s. | Saturday, January 20, 2018 | Best of, Dunkirk, I Tonya, Logan, Molly's Game, The Disaster Artist, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri, Wind River, Wonder Woman | 18 Comments |
Here we go! It's time to start my best of lists. I i still have few movies left to see before I finish my epic Best and Worst list - I think there are nearly 70 categories there this year, including The Post and Phantom Thread, but since it's almost the time for Academy Award nominations and most bloggers are publishing their best of 2017 lists already, I decided to start with mine too, especially that I doubt any of the films I have left to watch from 2017 could get into top 10 here.

Miss Sloane & Molly's Game

"Depression and anger gave way to blinding rage at my powerlessness over the unfair whims of men"
This month I saw two movies where the lead role was played by Jessica Chastain - terrific Miss Sloane and entertaining Molly's Game. Chastain was Golden Globe nominated for both, missed the Oscar nomination last year and who knows if she makes it next week. I decided to do a double post feature on them, because while it's Molly's Game that is getting attention right now it's a shame Miss Sloane, a much better movie, didn't get the spotlight last year.
