HBO has finally revealed the first full-length trailer for season 4 of Game of Thrones. Just like the trailers for the previous seasons this promo is terrific. We get so much good stuff here - glimpses of the battle, the trial by combat and even Arya back with the Needle and Sansa at the Eyrie.
But perhaps the most intriguing is the shadow of the dragon over King's Landing. The show doesn't use flashbacks, nor does it seem likely it's an alteration made for the trailer. Could it be one of the upcoming dream/flashback/vision sequences that Bran has? It's certainly not the present reality.
The season which will focus on the second part of Storm of Swords will bring us another big battle, this time in a different part of Westeros, another memorable wedding and what I'm guessing will be the best performance from Peter Dinklage on the show yet.
The new season begins Sunday, April 6th.
The purple wedding.
The champion of Meereen charging at Daario, Daenerys, Jorah and Barristan.
Sansa Stark during her escape.
Jaime with his Golden Hand.
Ygritte, still pissed off at Jon.
Tell your father I'm here, and tell him the Lannisters aren't the only ones who pay their debts.
New addition to the show - Oberyn Martell, the prince of Dorne, played by Pedro Pascal.
People of Meereen welcoming Daenerys.
The trial of Tyrion Lannister.
Arya Stark reunited with her sword - The Needle.
The obligatory shot of Cersei and candles.
Jaime angrily grabbing Cersei. This appears to be the beginning of their infamous sex scene.
Rast leaving the offering for the White Walkers
Jon Snow, possibly at the Wall.
The wildings, possibly storming the Wall.
Melisandre burning shit down.
Littlefinger and Sansa at the Eyrie. The shot of Sansa appears to be from the same scene this moment comes from. The beginning of snow castle scene perhaps??
This looks like the meeting of two Bolton armies - a little chat between Ramsay and Roose?
There is only one hell - the one we live in now - is Melisandre talking to Yara? I'll certainly prefer Yara joining Stannis' army than becoming the substitute for Jeyne Poole from the books.
Jaime as the commander of Gold Cloaks.
It looks like since Littlefinger left for Eyrie, it's Oberyn's turn for classic chats with Varys in front of the throne.
Ramsay enjoying - no doubt - twisted sex
Bran - most likely - about to have a vision.
Oberyn vs Mountain
Arya during the fight at crossroads Inn.
Jaime with a new sword?
Hands down my favorite shot of the trailer - Cersei crying with defeated look on her face
