Soundtrack Wednesday - Captain Phillips

By s. Wednesday, January 8, 2014 ,

(on a day of Henry Jackman's BAFTA nomination, I thought it's a good idea to share the score's best track that incidentally plays in last year's best scene)

Track: Safe Now
Artist: Henry Jackman
Movie: Captain Phillips

  1. Oh, that is an amazing score piece. Especially as I think it's very underrated as that music fits the ending very perfectly.

    1. It's so beautiful. I don't think the scene would make me cry this hard without this music.

  2. Oh oh, I'm probably going to watch it tomorrow evening to award myself because I have to do some hardcore studying but I already want to see that last scene everybody keeps talking about!

    1. It's really amazing. It's better than you heard. Best work of Hanks's career and more powerful ending than Gravity's.

  3. Easily the best part of the movie. The various emotions throughout the film culminating and summed-up in that one final scene. Tom Hanks deserves every nomination he gets with this one.

  5. Superb. Quite simply superb. The ending of the film is brutal, it absolutely smashes down on you. It concludes the film with such devastating force.

  6. I love movie soundtracks. I thought I was a little weird, but now I know I'm normal! I really liked the piano piece that was in 'Gravity.' I'll have to see if I can find that one.
