Vengeance is coming in new trailer for Game of Thrones season 4

By s. Monday, February 17, 2014 , ,
This is the beauty of knowing the story before the show airs - for non-book readers this is just a shot of Shae lying on the bed. But for us who read the book? OH. MY. GOD.

The new trailer for season 4 brought some cool things with it - mostly the Stark kids addressing the Red Wedding, Arya reciting her kill list and chilling look at White Walker near the end. Between this and that horrifying shot of Drogon I'm officially scared.

The awesome song is Cities in Dust by The Everlove
Arya and the Hound:
New look at Cersei:

New shots of Daenerys:

I lie awake all night, thinking about how they died
Another look at Mark Gatiss' character:
The battle of Castle Black:

He was betrayed by his own men...all we can give him now is justice
Another look at Sansa during her escape
Badass shot of Drogon from foreshadowing special:

Bran warging
What do we do to those who hurt the ones we love? Littlefinger talking to Sansa
Stannis proclaiming he won't be just a page in history book:
Brienne, possibly leaving King's Landing:
Cersei repeating Tyrion's joy to ashes words during his trial:
Chilling look at the White Walker:
I will do what Queens do...I will rule.
Another look at Tyrion during trial:

  1. That trailer is awesome! I knew it was "Cities in Dust" as I'm a big Siouxsie & the Banshees fan.

    1. HBO is really awesome at picking the songs for the shows and trailers, this one fits the footage so well!

  2. YES! Shae lying on Bed - That, or what follows it, has always been my favourite moment of the whole series. I have only been waiting for it for like two years. And it's finally happening!

It doesn't look like they will but I really hope they don't fuck this up. This season really has the potential to be far better than any of the previous ones. I want them to reach those heights that third book did.

    1. It's my single favorite chapter of all books - so tense and amazing, I cannot wait to see how they adapted it!

The latter part of Storm of Swords is my favorite - so many climax moments, just one after the other. I'm really hoping the epilogue scene closes this season.

  3. That shot of Shae! That was my favorite thing because I kept reading all those theories in the WICnet comments where they thought that scene would play out differently! And Jon and Sansa talking about the Red Wedding - hurry up, April!

    1. I don't know why people think some things - there is no way they would alter this chapter, GRRM still has some say and he loves Tyrion - this is Tyrion's biggest moment. I hope Jon is talking about RW but maybe he is talking about the old commander killed by watchmen?

    2. I suppose he could be, my mind immediately went to the RW. I want to see that. I just love when the Starks talk about each other. That was the only thing keeping me going through Bran's chapters for awhile because he always reminisced.

    3. Yeah I hope they will actually show Jon finding out about what happened, they like to omit those crucial but small details, I mean the dragons still haven't got their names :/

  4. I'm slowly getting the desire to read the third book.. I would have time.. Couple of chapters a day and I will finish it.. because really want to know what happens and reading the spoilers isn't the same. I do think a big thing happens in the end though.. as I've read it, so.. I'm interested in how and when and by whom!

    1. There are few big things in the end, so you may not even know what I consider the main one :) The second part of the book is just one big thing after another, a complete rollercoaster.

  5. The trailer was amazing, I am so excited for Season 4. I am slowly making progress with the books and I wish I was ahead of it all but I love the show so much that I don't mind not knowing in advance!

    1. Knowing in advance has some advantages - mainly losing your shit about a single shot from the trailer that confirms one of your favorite scenes making it to the show :)

    1. Don't read spoilers about this one, it's huge, it will probably be episode 9 maybe even 10.

  7. Oh no. I'd been hoping they'd change Shae's storyline. Oh well.

    1. Really? I'm hoping that chapter stays intact, it's my favorite one.

  8. I'm so obsessed, I start feeling ill. I can't wait for this and also reading the books, but the latter won't be done before the fourth season, probably. I have some other novels to deal with and it's a good thing because I have to turn my attention off GoT to be sane again :)

    1. I still cannot believe there is 48 days of waiting. And then 7 days waiting for each episode. It's like being addicted to drugs if not worse, since I'm fairly sure it's easier to get drugs then just wait for them to appear on your TV every 7 days.
